Customers Flock to The Cheesecake Shop for Free Slices
The Cheesecake Shop Spearwood and Myaree held a free slice day on Saturday 29 July to spread a little cheer for National Cheesecake Day.
The event was promoted on Facebook and customers responded with excitement in the lead up to the event by tagging their friends, some of whom had lined up in anticipation on the day to receive a delicious free slice of cheesecake. This event saw over 800 slices given away.
Ben Rijavec who has been the Franchisee of The Cheesecake Shop Spearwood for 14 and a half years enthusiastically says,
“They [customers] loved it. There was a lot of excitement. People were lining up and kids were very happy.”
Ben who has the role of both baker and business manager, had initial doubts about the idea. However, upon seeing the success on the day and how the event drove customers back in store, he remarked that it was “well worth it” and he would “definitely do it again.”
The Cheesecake Shop’s Digital Marketing Coordinator Richard Fowell comments on the effectiveness of using Facebook as a platform for local area marketing,
“Facebook Events proved to be a great tool to quickly and cost-effectively reach and engage with local communities near the Myaree and Spearwood area and get them excited about our Free Slice Day.”
Ryan Potts, WA Area Manager discusses the importance of franchisees being willing to try new initiatives for local area marketing saying, “new initiatives are important to try especially when digital marketing is showing to have great effect for lower investment.”
“Free slice day is a call to action to get 400 people to walk through your door and see what you have to offer. It is a way to get new people in who have never been in before.”
Following the success of the Free Slice Day at The Cheesecake Shop Spearwood and Myaree, all stores in the great state of WA have signed up to hold a Free Slice Day together on Saturday 16 September 2017.
